Corbie Fieldwalker - Director

Corbie Fieldwalker creates salmon leather and goods informed by his knowledge as a filmmaker and fly fishing guide. Salmon leather and utilitarian handmade pieces reflect an acute awareness of the unceded lands and waters that nourish the wild salmon and a holistic approach to natural resources through sustainable food harvesting practices.

The salmon are harvested locally by hand from the waters of the Xwemelch'stn, the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilw̓ət) Nations. Each skin is tanned and dyed naturally with zero waste, creating full grain, waterproof, and durable vegetable-tanned leather. The fish feed family, friends, and community before transformation.
